3 Signs You Need Dock Restoration Services

Depending on the age of your boat dock and the state of its materials, a dock restoration service may be necessary soon. It’s perfectly normal for different elements of your dock to become damaged, rusted, or otherwise in poorer condition due to time and constant exposure to the water, but that doesn’t mean you should let your dock deteriorate without any care. Here are some signs that you need dock restoration services to get your dock back in good condition.

3 Signs You Need Dock Restoration Services

  • Warped or bent wood. Constantly getting wet will warp or bend wooden planks, and while sometimes you can fix one or two warped planks pretty easily if most of the planks are damaged, you’ll need professional help to get your dock safe again. One of the many services available as part of dock restoration is replacing wooden planks and walkways that have become warped, bent, or otherwise unsafe to walk on.
  • Rust. Metal parts, such as a ladder or any other components, will rust as time goes by. Rusty metal parts aren’t as reliable as metal in better condition, so they’ll need to be looked at and likely replaced if you want your dock to be useable.
  • Discoloration. There are a few different parts of your dock that can become discolored, including wood. Like with warped planks, discolored planks are a sign that something is wrong, mostly pest damage or wood rot, and you’ll need dock restoration services.
