Getting Ready for Installation

The hardwood flooring will be delivered to your home up to a week before it is installed. Make sure you have a space inside your home to put it so it can acclimate to the temperature and humidity there. Before installers arrive, you’ll also need to clear the areas getting new flooring of all items, including:

  • Furniture
  • Window Treatments
  • Wall Hangings
  • Rugs

During Installation

We’ll prepare the subfloor first. This may involve repairing or replacing existing wood, smoothing out concrete surfaces, or applying a self-leveling compound to create a flat surface. Once the subfloor is ready, the next step involves laying down underlayment to provide insulation and cushioning for the hardwood floor.

It’s time to begin laying the hardwood planks. Our installers will nail down the flooring in the pattern you selected. After we secure the wood planks, we’ll fill the gaps between them to create an even surface and prevent moisture damage. Hardwood flooring must also be sealed and sanded before it can be finished.

Finally, after completing all these steps, your hardwood floors will require regular maintenance to keep them looking their best. This may include periodic cleaning and waxing, as well as any necessary repairs or refinishing down the line. Your hardwood floors should last for many years with proper care and maintenance.
